The recent spell of hot weather has brought about some spectacular sunsets. This picture of the sun setting over the north end of Arran was taken from a hill behind Ayr using a 300mm lens. People should always remember never to look directly at the sun through a camera lens and use dark glasses so no damage is done to the eyes. The sun is still powerful, even when almost below the horizon.
